I must have missed something... when did 21 piles of glittering dust become holy god leet awesome? If anything it shows that you stuck the inscription on there and still got junk material back for it. I just stuck one on a set of fiery ruby daggers of warding and got 15 glittering dust, I expert salvage a normal set of ruby daggers and lo and behold 10 glittering dust. Yeah I'm not seeing the holy god awesome leetness to that. now had it spit up the ruby then yeah I can see the leet awesomeness. Not impressed with the outcomes with this measure for measure thing so far.

Look at the top of the chat box. The first attempt gave him a gem.

Speaking of which, tried it while chest running earlier;

So far what ever I add them to seems to go up by about 80ish gold (regardless of item colour)

I would like to think it was tiered in some way to the colour, something like...a mulitplier. As we know each item a has a low gold level when sold to trader it would bump it up a bit so something like....

If an item was worth say 25 gold as it is then we add it to a coloured item..
Blue item worth + show money = X2 (so 50g)
Purple + show money = X2 = X3
Gold + show money = X2 = X4

Ok so the numbers above may need to be fiddled a bit but you see the point.

Or at least somethign like that, Ive never seen trader pay much or items Ive sold to him but this would be nice, at least this is how I thought it was going to work anyway.. (or something on those lines)..

I'e been having bad luck so far, but I know of people salvaging jewels or large amount of crafting materials from items they added the inscriptions to.

i have been messing around with the salvaging mod and have found some interesting facts..

I used many differnt items for the comparison.. but when i made the comparison.. i always used the same type of items.. so for expample steel daggers and steel daggers..

now what i found is that if you expert salvage an item withought the mod on it.. you are just as likley to get a rare material from it as you are with the mod on it..

in some cases the mod even seemed to screw up the salvage into common materials.. this usually happend with items that had a probability of dropping high end materials such as rubys and saphires..

but with items that salvage into things like steel and such.. the mod has ZERO effect..

I will stand by these findings no matter the argument from others. i spent alota time testing this and i belive my findings are VERY valid.

so in conclusion i dont know if i can call this a nerf.. but i belive that withought a doubt this is not having any positive effects on salvages..

in fact i would go so far as to say.. do not add this to an item that you want good rare materials out of.. because i have seen more success from the good old fashioned non modded way..

thanks for your time

Yep, those old ruby daggers and one measure for measure gave me my first ruby. Get creative. I salvage every one I can find. If we had a inscription and upgrade trader I would buy them.

so far i ahve added measure to 4 rare jeweled daggers, of them 3 successfully salvaged gems 1 of which salvaged 2 rubies at once so i believe measure is a great mod

I'm lazy to read every post, but this is what I was thinking.

You're in Tyria/Cantha. You find a really nice skinned req 8 purple (or even gold) weapon. ID it. Aw crap it's highly salvagable/precious.

Now, you find a Nightfall equivalent weapon. OMG that skin is awesome and it's req 8 yay! You ID it and you see it has one of the inscriptions in it. So now instead of saying aw poop, you instead have a chance of taking it out and rescuing your pretty req 8 fancypants weapon and then you can replace it with a 15^50. And then you can chuck the salvage/precious inscription into that req 13 piece of poo that you dont want and get a few more crafting materials or some rares or some extra cash.

It's called having more options and I think it's great. I've gotten a bunch of them out of blues and purples and thrown them in useless other things I've found in chests, etc.

It helps when you have those extra 3% for getting the inscriptions out, but if not, I don't see how it's any different from finding a non inscription weapon with those mods in other campaigns.

I hadn't thought of the ruby daggers thing yet. (First white Jeweled Daggers I salvaged I got a sapphire out of. And boyf got a diamond out of some on his first try. Otherwise I get 1-3 dust). Going to save my highly salvs for those now.

Yeah right. I bet you only salvaged a few things and jumped to your conclusion. For a real valid statistical analysis, you need to test those numbers in the thousands, which I doubt that you did considering these new inscriptions werent even out that long at the time of your post.

So yeah, I highly doubt that your findings are "valid"
